South Lamar Striping Changes

The traffic stripe at South Lamar and Belk Boulevard was changed this morning (3/8/2016) in an effort to improve traffic flow through the intersection. Drivers heading north on South Lamar (towards town) will now remain in the left lane. The right lane has been restriped for right turns only onto Belk Boulevard.

Changes were also made to the bike lane to provide a designated place for bicyclists to merge into traffic before approaching the intersection. No changes were made to the southbound lanes.

Please be patient as other motorists adjust to the changes, particularly during morning and afternoon rush hours.
