Traffic Signal at Kroger on University

The new traffic signal at the intersection of University Avenue and Booker Road/Kroger entrance will be placed into “Flash mode” on Thursday, October 29th. Flash mode is used to alert motorists to a pending signal activation. While in Flash mode, the signal will flash yellow for traffic on University and red for traffic at Kroger and Booker Road. Traffic should use caution in the area but should NOT treat this intersection as an active traffic signal. Traffic leaving Kroger must still stop and wait for a safe opening in traffic to enter University Avenue until the signal is fully activated. The signal is anticipated to be placed into full stop-and-go operation on November 5th. This portion of University Avenue is owned and maintained by the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
