Virginia H. Chrestman Memorial Outstanding Employee of the Year Award

The award was established in memory of Virginia Harrington Chrestman, who was a long-serving and much-loved employee of the City of Oxford. Virginia worked as Secretary, Deputy City Clerk and from August 1, 1974 until June 1, 2003 served as City Clerk, working under former mayors John 0 . Leslie, Patricia C. Lamar, Richard Howorth and current Mayor George "Pat" Patterson.

Prescription Drug Program

The City of Oxford has a program to offer savings on prescription drugs to residents who are without health insurance, a traditional benefits plan, or have prescriptions that are not covered by insurance.

Traffic Calming Policy Approved

Requests Prioritized on First-Come, First Served Basis

The Board of Alderman adopted a new Traffic Calming Policy at its April 16, 2013 meeting. The policy provides a step-by-step procedure to address citizens concerns regarding speeding cars in neighborhoods, excessive cut-through traffic, or other safety concerns that may arise.
