The City of Oxford Board of Aldermen appoint citizens to serve on a number of advisory boards and commissions listed below. Most of these boards and commissions participate in the City's policy decisions by making recommendations to the Board of Aldermen. Each board receives assistance from City staff  

The Planning Commission has legal authority to approve or deny certain construction or development-related applications.
